A Letter to All Franklin County Sugarmakers
I hope this note finds you and your families well, and that everyone had a successful sugaring season. As we transition into the Summer months, we would like to close out the sugaring season with our annual Franklin County Sugarmaker’s meeting. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at the Franklin County Field Days location in Swanton/Highgate with registration at 5:30pm. This year, Jason Gagne is offering hydrometer testing prior to the meeting kickoff. Hydrometer testing will start at 5pm for anyone who is interested.
Following Hydrometer testing, we will have annual meeting registration starting at 5:30pm and dinner catered by The Phoenix House at 6pm. Mark Isselhardt, University of Vermont Maple Specialist, will join us for a discussion on maple syrup testing, density measurements, syrup quality data findings, and share insights from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food Markets (VAAFM) retail inspection program.
Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. The cost for the event is $20 per person which includes the dinner and door prizes. If you are interested in pre-registering, please mail a check to the address below, along with details on the number of attendees. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Franklin County Sugarmaker’s Association (FCSMA), please include an additional $5 per person per membership for the membership dues:

We would like to request that you pass this information along to other Sugarmakers in your area, as we do not have everyone on the mailing list. All are more than welcome to attend! Thank you and we look forward to having you join us!
Kind Regards, Kyle Branon and The Franklin County Sugarmaker’s Association
